Throughout his life he was always interested in golf, and he got started with the sport at an early age. With that scholarship he attended Wake Forest University where he continued to play until he turned pro.

Webb Simpson Career

In 2007 Webb won the Walker Cup with his team and then moved on to competing in the PGA Tour in 2008. He was a runner up in the Nationwide Tour, which led him to be able to compete in the PGA Tour’s qualifying school. After this he was able to play more games where he ranked on the top ten players lists. Webb continued to play successfully, including at The Barclays, where he finished 8th. His streak of impressive play ended in 2010 when he had a less successful season.

Fortunately things picked back up for Simpson in 2011 and he was one of the top 25 on tour. He did play for the PGA Tour title, but he did not win due to poor play on the last hole. He also lost a playoff at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which meant he missed another shot at his first PGA Tour title. Later in the year Webb played at the U.S. Open and finished 14th in a tie.

Simpson’s first PGA Tour title came in August of 2011 at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina. This resulted in him landing in third place overall for players throughout the season. Just one month later Webb won another tournament for the PGA Tour in the Deutsche Bank Championship. Simpson continued to lead in the FedEx Cup throughout the rest of the year and won over six million dollars. He was even invited to the 2011 Presidents Cup in Australia, where he represented the United States.

In the beginning of 2012 Simpson took third place in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. He then landed in the top ten of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. During the summer of the same year he won the U.S. Open in San Francisco. This sky-rocketed his career, as it meant he had won his first championship. Throughout the rest of 2012 Webb continued to play well and he even qualified for the 2012 Ryder Cup team. He finished fifth overall in this and is now training for another golf season.
